Prep and Planning

Before we can get on with the good stuff, right now just feels like a never ending to do list of jobs. House jobs, boat jobs, life admin jobs, spending as much time with friends and family before we go, and all this on top of ‘normal’ day to day life of school and work.

We’ve decided to make the transition to boat life in stages. The first stage being Tom finishing work which he does this week – eek! He will then be full time on boat prep until we go. The boat is coming out of the water for the month of March for antifouling, prop servicing and stern gland re-packing. She’s also having her standing rigging replaced.

She will go back in the water at the start of April and we will move aboard during the Easter Holidays. I will then stop working at the end of May whilst the boys will finish the last few weeks of school.

The tip of the research iceberg
